Beach Dream

This entry isn't exactaly wonderful, but considering I had no idea what I was going to do I guess it's ok.

Now that I'm only in 3 competitions (and it will be staying that way I think) I should have more time to really think my entries through....I've been winging it for a while now and with the talent on the forums nowadays that's just not going to crack the mustard. A bit behind on my household chores atm, but hopefully I will mostly rectify that today and get started on my assignments for either Work It or DEMONS.

Sign ups

So I finally got around to making my model for DEMONS and chose one other comp to join.
Some people have said that me joining a competition can be a little intimidating for some people, just because of how many I've won (13) and newer competitors and those looking for an easy win will skip over it. So just in case this is true I left my sign ups till late, waiting to make sure enough people had already signed up and reserved....I guess they could still drop if they don't want to play with me, but it's more obvious if they do lol.

My model for Simanims comp is a futuristic demon called Static.
Bio: Static can't remember where she originally came from, what she was born to do. Once upon a time she might have known these details, however now she only exists in the confines of a computer.
Trapped on a hard drive after being summoned by a technopagan with a fetish for the macabre. She only see's what her jailer decides to show her until summoner and computer board a cross galaxy space cruiser and the pagan's bunk mate links her computer to the ships network unwittingly letting Static loose. 

And I decided to join ''Work It'', a compeition hosted by someone I've never seen on the modeling forums before (though they could have just competed in a little known comp) and who has never hosted before. Felicia is judging and helping the chick out so that eases my ''noob alert'' alarm, so I'm pretty confident that we will be getting some decent feedback. I've loved making advertisments with the Sims since we did them in the cycle of Flux I won, and thats the whole premise of this competition, so I'm looking forward to giving it another go.

I just submitted Saffia, looks like she might become one of my permanent models along with Laleina. Though I did take a new headshot of her for the signups, the little smirk she's doing is a crack up.

Will be doing my entry for Beech Modeling tonight, after some drama with sliders not working and mods crashing my game I never got round to it yesterday. Have no idea what I'm going to do, will just have to wing it lol

New Siggys for the Collection

As promised here is the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun siggy....I'm using this one on the officals, thought it was about time to start changing my siggy each time I win a new comp, instead of just displaying them here.

I also won All About Me too :D So heres the siggy for that as well. Felicia has made some pretty funky siggys :D

Will be joining Simanims comp DEMONS, and I'm contemplating joining just one more, something that might be a bit more easy going, but we shall see what happens with my time. Will be creating my entry for Beech Modeling tonight probably, as well as my model for DEMON...assuming these sliders I installed work without screwing up the existing sliders.

Current Mood

I've always been jealous of LiveJournal and how they have that cool little ''My Mood'' thing you can attach to each one of your posts. I haven't really looked to see if theres a gadget app for blogger that does the same thing, so if anyone knows of one let me know.

I've decided to make my own for the time being. I didn't create the pictures myself they are from a free to use E-card site, though I am contemplating creating my own sim version of a variety of different emotions.

In other news I'm down to one Sim Modeling competition, which is like....amazing, considering I was once in 11 at the same time. All About Me is finished, just waiting on the results and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was cancelled due to Felicia falling out with a friend on the Unbound site, and deciding that was a good time to leave permanently for Simpure, which I figured would eventually happen, being an admin you need to spend as much time as possible at your own site to make sure it runs and supports members well.

I will miss her, but I won't be joining for my own personal reasons, we can stay in touch through the officials and her blog anyways (which I thought was on my bar, but wasn't, so that has been rectified). I know some people have been offended in the way Felicia and friends decided to vacate Unbound......in some ways I myself find it distasteful as some of the posts made it sound like the fact the ''friend'' is an Unbound mod was something that really needed to be stated, like it mattered considering the whole thing was a personal dispute that only involved 2 people and their feelings and had nothing to do with Unbound or Simpure. Also the way some of her friends acted after the fact, generally the ridiculous PM's that Bliss got from someone who wasn't even remotely involved in the matter. That being said, after hearing what was in the emails, I wouldn't expect her to stick around, so I don't think badly about her for closing her comp and leaving.

I am a bit squirally about anything that makes it look as if the fan sites are competing with each other, because its just not true, most active members of fan sites actually post on multiple different forums. I think the mares nest have been riling up some of the younger more impressionable members of the community to believe that first Simstopia and Unbound were competing for members, and then moved on to weave the story to later include Simpure Thoughts. They will possibility even add Simagination to that pot next. Anything that makes it look as if this is actually true makes me a little sad, its shit enough that the community looks so divided with all these different sites popping up everywhere, some of which offer nothing different from another one, other than being managed by someone different....but it makes it worse when people sometimes unconsciously grow this weird belief that you can't be an active member and promote and support multiple sites.

I understand there were accusations of Felicia's comps being rigged to favor her friends, and as a contestant I didn't see it, though I could be biased I was declared the winner of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun as I was apparently 23 points ahead of second place at the time of cancellation, and I think I'm either first or second in All About Me, probably second. Hosts choice is just for fun, just a way that someone can feel good about their picture.....and no matter how you throw it Crowd Choice is a popularity contest. The concept of three ways to win is a nice way to pump up the confidence of some simmers, but for me the only category I was worried about was my raw scores :D The whole idea is an excellent one, and I would recommend Fel's comps to anyone, especially those starting out in modeling who would like a ''not newb'' but not ''hardcore'' comp to start with.

I consider both parties involved my friends, I feel terrible that personal emails between the two of them ended up being shared both privately and publicly to others and that something that was a personal dispute between two people has become public business........however other than this fairly neutral post I'm not going to get involved, this is a personal matter that doesn't concern me.

Wow this was longer than I expected this was just going to be a ''HEY GUYZS I ADDED NEW GADGET'' lol.............anyways, mood gadget added.....yay for gadgets.

Legacy Play

I finally got the chance to play my legacy family. I was going to leave them until I had gotten Generations, but I realized upon loading it up that the triplets were in fact, pretty fucking close to aging up to teens. So now they have had their birthdays I might leave it again until I get the expansion since the youngest child is still a toddler, he can have fun with all the children stage stuff all by himself.

This generation turned out rather interesting looking, and very generic stereotype in their randomized components. As some might know my naming strategy for my legacy is to pull up a Wikipedia page, hit randomize, and use the first word on the page that could effectively pass as a childs name. I in fact have a little notepad document with pre randomized names.

This generation ended up with Triplet girls, Mira, Moon and Dakota....and a single boy, Forbes.

Moon actually took after her hippy name and so far has randomized traits all suitable for that stereotype, she rolls a lot of fishing wishes and when not micro managed makes a beeline right for the playground, her favourite is the slide. Here is her as a Teenager.

Mira is the dark sheep of the three; she looks considerably different to her two sisters. She rolled the Evil trait first off which matched her favourite color random roll of.....yeap, Black. She is also a hopeless romantic who watches a lot of television; I like to see her as an emo teenager, writing dark poetry about drop dead gorgeous vampires and such. Here she is as a teen.

Finally Dakota turned out to be a text book nerd, when she aged up she even had default glasses on lol (that I changed to some better looking ones) and some of the craziest default outfits I've ever seen, I kept some of the natural ''lack of style'' she has. A genius, she spends most of her time playing chess...on the computer of course and writing Science Fiction Novels. When left to her own devices she will either head to the computer to play games, or pull out a book. Here’s her teen pic.

All their traits were randomized, and I don’t change a thing.....I like to leave free will on high and play wishacy type style, aiming to fulfil wishes or letting them decide what they want to do.

Soon as Forbes is a Teen (the girls will prob be young adults by then) it will be Heir vote time yet again!! :D

Finale Assignment for All About Me

Here's my final entry for All About Me, Felicia's Simself competition, 10 assignments in total!
The finale we had to age our simself up to their elder stage, which rounds off the whole compeition nicely.

Won't know until everyone has turned in and scores are calculated who won each category, Overall score and Crowd favorite. It's been a pretty fun comp even though my simself isn't very photogenic...at least I know she takes after the real person lol.

It's a Good Day

I slept in later than I wanted to but whatever hehe

Woke to discover that I won Vampire the Masquarade by one point!! SUPER close. Don't know if Dark is making a siggy to go along with the win, she is a very busy woman, if she does I will re post it so that everyone can see her handy work. I still don't like my finale entries for that comp so if you are interested in seeing them you'll have to check out the thread on the officials.

My sim model Laleina Kale was also selected for the sim showcase/spotlight on Unbound, so her face sits on the top of the forum index for everyone to see :D

One of my good friends, and one of the best of the best in the modeling community right  now Simanims is also going to be starting a comp soon....shhh it might be a secret. But seriously keep your eyes open for it, even if you can't join, please by all means lurk!
